Caliphate

Obraz
I’ve watched the Swedish series called “Caliphate” recently, which triggered my interest in a problem of terrorism worldwide. The series deals with lives of Arabs in their countries and abroad, those who are Muslims and of other beliefs. It gives various perspectives from Arabian students living in Sweden, a Muslim woman living in Syria and a Swedish policewoman. The plot is built around a planned ISIS attack on Sweden which connects each of these women. We can see how people are encouraged to join ISIS through the brainwashing and we learn about lives of women in ISIS countries as well as about young Arabs fighting the terrorism stigma and prejudices. The movie settings, actors, the script and suchlike are phenomenal and of high-quality. Cruel scenes of war in Syria, which were in fact shoot in Jordan are very realistic. Everything is just perfect. I reckon the film is both educational and interesting. It has a lot of suspense and plot twists which causes viewers to bite theirs nails....

Should children participate in talent shows?

Obraz
It is common for children to take part in various talent shows and TV programs. From my point of view kids should have an opportunity to improve and show their talents and skills. By participation they learn how to win and lose what could be useful in their future lives. Besides I do think children should have separate programs, where judges are less harsh and direct. Criticism is an important factor in life but at such a young age when they are still building their personalities and characters, too strong critical opinions could impact them badly. Another issue is forcing kids to act like adults which of course is wrong but it is a common practice in programs for instance such as beauty contests where they behave and dress like at least twice their age. The key to success is to organize a program according to young people’s needs and mentality and program staff should be qualified in working with children.

Ancient Egyptian civilization

One of the examples is slaves who had to work hard in exchange for a shelter and food. Farmers had to hand their harvest, meat and other produces to tax collectors. The leader’s life was the most pleasant and comfortable since they had servants and their daily routine was based on naps and organizing banquets. They even did not have to walk by foot because they were carried by slaves.   The ancient Egyptians worshiped many gods and they honored them by praying and offering gifts. The most popular were Ra - the god of the midday sun  who was travelling on “solar barge” providing Sun ,  Khepri - the god of the morning sun represented as a beetle. Isis - the patron of families, Orisis – the god of the death and rebirth. They practiced mummification because they believed that it was the way to the infinitive life. Pharaohs connected people with...
